Description: The Town of Bluffton, South Carolina (Town) is seeking statements of qualifications from an engineering firm licensed in South Carolina to provide planning, permitting, bid documents and closeout package for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) design of pathways for thirty (30) identified locations throughout Bluffton. The target start date for performing these services is late August 2023.
Pricing will be negotiated with the top-ranked Responder as evaluated in the criteria included in this solicitation.

Question: 1. Is there any vertical work, and if so please define (per fourth bullet under the Design and Permitting phase). 2. Can the Town provide the Road R/W ownership of each site location (Town, County or State)? 3. Is there a Town standard for the detectable warning surface (DWS)? If we are to match the pre-existing DWS type of the general vicinity (red brick, brown, yellow, etc.) will the Town provide specifications for those existing DWS materials? 4. How were these locations for improvement identified and is there any other existing data or report available documenting the deficiencies with respect to ADA compliance? 5. If the selected consultant finds that other sidewalk ramps in the vicinity of those selected are deficient with respect to ADA standards, will they be added to the project?
