Description: The Governing Board of the St. Johns River Water Management District is requesting sealed bids for a per ton timber sale comprised of approximately 177.8 acres (“Sale Area”) within the Heart Island Conservation Area, located approximately 2.1 miles east of Barberville, Florida and south of State Road 40 in Volusia County, Florida. The Sale Area is in Section 14; Township 15 South; Range 29 East. Sale boundaries include Deep Creek Road, Deep Creek, firebreaks, and obvious change in timber type. (Maps are included in the attached agreement.)

This is a marked thinning within mature slash pine stands previously thinned over 10 years ago. Trees for harvest are marked with blue paint eye level. The District estimates the volume of timber conveyed in this Agreement to be 1,270 tons of pine pulpwood, 2,450 tons of chip-n-saw (CNS), 280 tons of sawtimber, but there is no guarantee that the volume is present.
