Description: Dorchester County is seeking bids from qualified and experienced Contractors to provide and install a pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) for its Emergency Management Department. The project will consist of erecting a 40’Wx104’Lx16’H PEMB with an unfinished interior and limited electrical service. The building should have six 12’x12’ rollup doors, one 14’x14’ rollup door, and two standard walkthrough exterior doors and meet all requirements found in this solicitation. A bid alternate for installation of the foundation is included on the bid form.

Question: Can you clarify the following items in reference to the PEMB Building • Single Slope or Gable Building? • Roof Pitch? • Standing Seam or Screw down roof? • Color or Galv roof? • Framed Opening Locations • Just make sure the snow load is correct. 50psf seems high for SC. The typical snow load in that area is 5psf. Is insulation needed and if so what what is the r-rating? What type of garage doors are needed, segmented or roll type?

Question: Electrical Questions Overhead or Underground Service, if underground what is the distance to Utility Connection Interior Lighting, how many circuits or lights are needed? Trickle Charging, how many circuits are needed? Any Emergency Lighting? Any Exterior Lighting? Will stamped electrical plans be needed for permitting, if so who will handle the design cost.
