Description: Wentzville Middle School Tuckpointing Specs and Scope:
Bio clean Brick and Limestone
Bio Clean all masonry with Enviro Klean by Prosoco and hot water, approximately 180 degrees at no more than 400 p.s.i.
Tuckpoint 5% of Brick
Grind with a dustless vacuum per OSHA Guidelines
Grind min. 1⁄2” in depth or to sound mortar
Lightly rinse ground mortar joints to remove any contaminants or loose material
Install Type “N” mortar.
Tooling, texture, and color to match existing
Mortar to set no less than seven (7) days prior to washing with detergents to expose sand
Cut out and recaulk window perimeters
Remove existing sealant from window perimeters
Clean and prep both edges
Solvent wipe
Install backing to the proper depth
Apply silicone sealant with no less than 100% elasticity, tooled to a concave finish
Depending on the manufacturer, sealant priming may be required
Pull and adhesion testing of the sealant will be required before installation
Cut out and re-caulk all expansion joints
Remove existing sealant
Clean and prep both edges
Solvent wipe
Install backing to the proper depth
Apply silicone sealant with no less than 100% elasticity, tooled to a concave finish Depending on the manufacturer, sealant priming may be required
Pull and adhesion testing of the sealant will be required prior to installation
Caulk the building perimeter to the sidewalk
Remove existing sealant
Mechanically remove the existing urethane sealant
Clean and prep both edges
Solvent wipe
Install backing to the proper depth
Apply, tooled to a concave finish
Pull and adhesion testing of the sealant will be required prior to installation
Caulk around all the man doors
Paint exposed steel with DTM
Caulk around all penetrations
Replace bricks as identified in the pre-bid
Tooth out the existing damaged brick, and install a new one to match the existing
Seal Masonry
Seal with Chemstop by Euclid
Sealer should be applied from the lower level up once you have a 3” rundown, you can proceed to
seal vertically for proper application (Do not start from top and work down, this will incur streaking)
Delivery
All major work and mobilization are to be complete before August 18th, 2025
