Overview:

Please see questions below answers are highlighted:

  • What does deliver removed items to Technology Office entail? Deliver to loading dock and facilities takes from there? Or do we deliver to storage room?  The installer will remove, transport, and deliver inside all SMART boards and projectors removed from the classrooms to the Technology Office storage room.  There is a dock that is the same level as the floor, but it is not raised to be able to offload from a semi.

  • If to a storage room, is it on the same level with the loading dock?  It is on the same level as the dock.
  • Do we need to provide boxing wrapping for transportation from old rooms to Railroad Street?  Provide whatever is necessary to safely deliver the equipment.
    1.

      1. What is the distance between each location and storage location Railroad St.? 273 Railroad St to: CRMS(11.7 miles), DFES(5.3 miles), GES(1.4 miles), GSMS(1 mile), JCHS(0.6 miles), TWES(3.7 miles), WES(8.9 miles)

      1. What is the time frame for this project and will it all be done at one time or in stages?  As soon as possible and all at one time.

      2. Will work be during normal business hours? If the panels can be delivered and installed before August 1, then yes.  If it is after August 1 and if no more than 1-2 classrooms would be displaced at a time, then yes.  If more than 2 classes would be displaced at a time, then it would have to happen after hours.

      3. How many rooms have conduit? Which Rooms? Or do we price for all rooms needing raceway?  If you look at the pictures supplied in the documentation, you will be able to see the rooms that have built in teacher desks.  Those all have conduit.

      1. Can Items be placed on pallets and delivered? Requires either a loading dock or Lift Gate?  The ideal scenario for us world be that the installer could store the panels and bring them as needed for the installs.  If that is not a possibility, panels should be delivered to the schools.  There are no loading docks at the schools.  Liftgate will be required at all locations.  There is not a door at all locations that will accommodate a pallet jack coming inside, so they would require the deliverer to take them off the pallet and bring them inside.

      1. Distance between locations? Same as #4

      1. Confirm all room audio will be from the internal speakers in the display.  Room audio will be from a ceiling mounted speaker that is already in the room that will be fed from the 3.5mm audio cable that the installer will supply from the faceplate to the speaker location.

      1. Are the walls where surface mounted raceway is required cinderblock walls? Yes.

      1. Confirm that no Electrical power will be required to be in the same raceway that the AV vendor provides? All power raceway will be provided by others?  There will be no power in the raceway provided by the installer.

      1. Per the spec you state

      ·         Install wall plate containing HDMI, VGA, USB 2.0 over Ethernet, and 3.5 mm audio interfaces at teacher desk location utilizing existing conduit if present.  Otherwise, surface mount raceway and surface mounted box will be provided and installed by the contractor.

      ·         Install HDMI, Ethernet, and VGA cables from panel location to teacher desk location.

o    Does the wall plate need to have and Ethernet connection on the plate for the teachers PC or are you referring to transmitting HDMI, VGA, USB 2.0 and audio from the wall plate to the display using and ethernet based Transmitter and receiver.  An Ethernet network connection for the teacher computer is not included in this install.  The faceplate will need to have an interface for HDMI, VGA, USB 2.0, and 3.5mm audio.  Since most panels will be beyond the max distance capabilities of USB, I specified USB 2.0 over Ethernet.

o    What is the average distance from the plate to the ViewSonic panel?  The documentation provided has distances for each room.
