What size is the pipe between the spill ways that need to be Plugged? 4. ? On the greater than 30% moisture do they mean has to have 30% or more water than sludge? 5. ? There any problems working with students present?

Response: 1. We will need a water supply like a fire hydrant is there anything available? See known locations of fire hydrants in Addendum No.2. Note: the contractor will need to obtain a hydrant meter and include the cost for water in their lump sum proposal. 2. Is smell going to be a problem if so need to discuss how to handle it? No. We are expecting some odor. This will be unavoidable. 3. What size is the pipe between the spill ways that need to be Plugged? We don’t know. See Addendum No.2 4. On the greater than 30% moisture do they mean has to have 30% or more water than sludge? After speaking with Dalton Utilities, they only require that the material is liquified enough to ensure that it can be pumped to the pressure main and not result in a stoppage. 5. Can we work 6 to 7 days a week 10 to 12 hrs a day? Yes 6. Are there any permits or etc we need to get? Nothing by the contractor 7. Will they be able to pump water back into pond as needed to float the dredge? Yes, from the evaporative pond. 8. There any problems working with students present? No, however we will need to be aware of school traffic / schedules and work with caution. The roads need to remain open to traffic at all times.

Question 2

Posted: 2/22/2022

Question: 1. Does the 90,000 gallons include all the water and sludge in the pond combined ? 2. Does it matter if we pump the water first and then the sludge?

Response: 1. The estimated quantity of sludge is 900,000. This will be dredged and removed prior to pumping the pond for two months. 2. The contractor’s proposal needs to follow the EPD approved abandonment plan. The contractor can offer an alternative proposal with alternative pricing but this will likely require an amendment to the permit that could delay the project.
