Description: This is a per-ton timber sale comprised of approximately 161.4 acres within the J.P. Hall Bayard Point Conservation Area, located in Clay County south of State Road 16. The Sale Area is located in Section 39; Township 6 South; Range 26 East. Sale boundaries include railroad, roads, timbered wetlands, and obvious change in timber type (Maps are included in the attached agreement). This timber sale is a combination of marked and logger-select thinning located within natural slash pine stands. In the marked area trees for harvest are marked with blue paint at eye level. In the logger-select area harvest trees will be selected based on the following criteria: diseased, defective, and suppressed trees shall be harvested first, followed by a portion of the intermediate and co-dominant trees to reach the desired density of 65-100 trees per acre (65 trees per acre in low density areas and 100 trees per acre in denser areas). Dominant trees shall not be harvested. The District estimates the volume of timber conveyed in this Agreement to be 2,500 tons of pulpwood, 910 tons of chip-n-saw/ better, but there is no guarantee the volume is present.
