Question: Are there photos of the damaged inside apartment 242.

Response: There are not photos but KCDC is arranging a time and date for site visits. KCDC will post the site visit information to its webpage as soon as possible. KCDC has established a 1:00 to 3:00 on Monday May 13 for the site visit.

Question: Should we INCLUDE new appliances in our proposal? If yes, can you give guidance to more specific make/model/finish?

Response: Include replacing the refrigerator and the range. Both are GE brand and both are white. The refrigerator is model HPE16BTNWW. The range is a 30 inch electric model RBS160DMWW.

Question: Will we REPLACE the exterior a/c condenser unit?

Response: If the exterior condenser unit is damaged from fire or needs to be replaced to match the new interior unit gas type then replacement is a possibility. However that cost may need to be absorbed by KCDC not the Insurance company if fire damage is not the root cause of replacement .

Response: No due to the fire, they are unoccupied.

Question: We were not aware of the May 13th site visit; would it be possible to schedule a time to view these properties sometime this week?

Response: Yes. Staff will be on site for site inspections from 11:00 till noon on Friday May 17th.

Question: Do the new windows need to meet heavy duty standards? If yes, can you please provide specs on make/model? Would a vinyl window be an option?

Response: Replacement windows should match as closely as possible to the existing windows. The existing windows are heavy aluminum frame with double pane insulated glass sashes. At this time, KCDC is not aware of the manufacturer but will continue to look for that information. Vinyl would not be similar materials to original windows.
