Description: The County of Darlington is seeking proposals from qualified firms for the removal of the existing marquee sign and installation of a new marquee sign at The Darlington County Courthouse.  Due to city ordinance digital signs are not permitted on properties zoned Core Commercial. The only type of sign permitted would be a marquee sign with red scrolling letters as existing sign. The current sign is in operable.

Question: 1. Are non-Darlington County Sign companies even considered for bid awarding? 2. What is the current size of the existing marquee sign? 3. Are you looking to replace it with the exact size of the existing one? 3. Does anyone have the exact dimensions or a shop drawing from the original panel installer of the current front and back opening size of the brick where the panel is now? 4. Since the current panel is inoperable, is the existing electrical connection still working? 5. What is the depth dimension of the brick topper that holds the sign panel?

Response: 1. Yes non-Darlington County sings companies are consider for bid awarding. 2. No sure of the exact size of current sign, it recommended to schedule a visit to take measurements of existing sign. 3. Yes we are wanting replace it with exact size to be incompliance with the City of Darlington Building and Codes. 4. The currents sign was installed approximately 20 years, at this time we cannot locate any original drawings. 5. Not sure if the electrical is still working. 6. Not sure of the depth dimension of the brick topper.

Question: 1. What is the desired PIXEL PITCH ? 2. Will Darlington County ensure the proper operable electrical service will be available to accomplish the proper electrical connection ? 3. a. What electrical voltage should the sign be designed to operate ? b. What is the maximum amps draw ? 4. What Communications System should the sign be designed to employ ? 5. Does the scope of work involve removal of the existing letters ? 6. Software Training Scope of Work ? 7. The existing sign has a border which means the viewing area is smaller than the sign cabinet. Which size are we hoping to match with the new LED Viewing area - the sign cabinet size or the smaller viewing area size ?

Response: 1. We are looking to just replace what the existing sign, but not sure of the pixel pitch it had. 2. As far was we know the electrical to the existing sign works. 3. Not sure of the voltage and maximum amps. 4. We would like the communication system should be able work off of Wi-Fi. 5. No the existing lettering will not be removed. 6. Train the employee's would operate the sign system. 7. We are looking to use the same are do to City of Darlington building and code regulations.
