Sealed bids for the IL 57 – Utility Relocations and Repair (MU 611) Project in the City of Quincy, Adams County, Illinois, described herein will be received at the office of the City Clerk, 730 Maine Street, City Hall, Quincy, Illinois 62301 until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 15^th, 2020 and at that time publicly opened and read aloud in the City Hall Council Chamber.

The City of Quincy’s MU 611 Project consists relocating two fire hydrants, and repairing a failed storm sewer and related items.

All bids shall be accompanied by either a bid bond on the “Proposal Bid” form contained in the proposal, executed by a corporate surety company satisfactory to the city of Quincy, or a bank cashier’s check, an irrevocable letter of credit or a properly certified check for not less than 5 percent of the amount bid, or for the amount listed in the specifications.

The contractor or sub-contractor performing the pavement patching work shall be pre-qualified in accordance with the rules of the IL Department of Transportation, adopted at 44 Illinois Administrative Code Section 650.

The City Council of Quincy reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities.

No bid may be withdrawn after the time for opening of the bids is past.

Bidders are notified that not less than the prevailing wage rate as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor shall be paid to all workers performing work under this contract.

This project contains the requirement that at least 50 percent of all workers performing work under this contract must be residents of Adams County, Illinois.
