Description: The City of Columbia is seeking bids from qualified firms or individuals to construct a sculptured concrete wall which will become a focal point and entry feature to the City’s arts district. The wall will also become the backdrop for additional art work in the form of murals, sculptures, or other artist works as may be later proposed. The intent of the walls design is for the serpentine shape to reflect the flow of the Duck River in downtown Columbia. The varying vertical heights will be representative of the rolling hills of Middle Tennessee. While the City will herein describe the general characteristics of the wall, the bidder will be required to describe the construction methods and techniques to be used that will result in a wall that has both the characteristics desired and the structural qualities needed for this permanent public artwork.
