Question: Hello Barry, Than County is asking for a 1 year labor workmanship warranty and a 5 year material warranty only? The inline gutter system ponds water, you want to use arcylic coating in the gutter system where standing water sit for weeks at a time? Acrylics / Elastomeircs coatings do not withstand ponding water and will peel off where water sits on the coating for any long periods of time? 100% High Solid Coating installed properly will withstand ponding water?? We can buy a 5 year coating at Lowes for $89.00 a bucket, SDilicone is $289.00 or more? there is a big difference in the costs between the two coatings for a good reason, none withstand ponding water except 100% high solid coating? and the gutter is a waste of money if any other liquid applied coating are used in the gutters. the scope of work is worded completely different.
Response: An addendum has been issued to to reflect warranties and coatings.

Question: is there a mill thickness required on the coatings? is a labor/material warranty requested?
Response: The coating requirements are stated in the scope of work and an addendum was issued reflecting what is required, so the mill thickness should reflect 100% high solid silicone coating that the County is requesting bids on. The workmanship warranty should be 5 years and the manufacturer's warranty should be 15 years.

Question: The gutters cannot be accessed to properly seal the joints and downspout outlets, due to the narrow opening. The metal roof panels rest on a steel girt that is not sealed and cannot be sealed because of the overhang. This will eliminate them from the warranty. Do you want the overhang of the gutter cut back to the gutter and sealed?
Response: We have issued an addendum with a separate bid submission form for contractor to provide the best option for the rework the current gutter system for the County to consider.
