Sealed bids for the Elm Street – North 6^th to North 7^th Roadway, Water Main, and Sewer Improvements (MR 640) Project in the City of Quincy, Adams County, Illinois, described herein will be received at the office of the City Clerk, 730 Maine Street, Suite 129, City Hall, Quincy, Illinois 62301 until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 11, 2021, and at that time publicly opened and read aloud in the City Hall Council Chamber.

The City of Quincy’s MR 640 Project consists of 820 feet of water main replacement, 469 feet of sewer replacement, 2561 square yards of PCC pavement or 575 tons of hot-mix-asphalt 1,257 feet of PCC curb & gutter, 7952 sq ft of PCC sidewalk, 8 manholes and inlets, and related improvements.  Total length of the project is 0.118 miles.

All bids shall be accompanied by either a bid bond on the “Proposal Bid” form contained in the proposal, executed by a corporate surety company satisfactory to the city of Quincy, or a bank cashier’s check, an irrevocable letter of credit or a properly certified check for not less than 5 percent of the amount bid, or for the amount listed in the specifications.

The City Council of Quincy reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities.

No bid may be withdrawn after the time for opening of the bids is past.
