Question: Will hauling services be need for this project?

Response: Yes, hauling services will be needed to bring materials (dirt, gravel, stone, concrete, etc.) that are necessary to build the project to the site. Please refer to the project manual, drawings, and scope of work for further information.

Question: 1. The site electrical plan does not show a conduit or feeder system for the streetlights. 2. The finish for the sign wall facing the park is not identified. 3. There is no section showing the existing waterproofing system in detail, is the drainboard existing? 4. Will removal of the asphalt sidewalk be required?

Question: 1. The selected bid due date of 10/12/2020 is a Federal Holiday. 2. The "no substitution" suppliers, Landscape Structures and Berliner do not have working phone numbers. 3. Will the existing curb and gutter to remain have the required curb cuts for the new tree planting pits? 4. Does the existing conduit system serving the new streetlights include the feeders? 5. Will it be acceptable to use #57 stone to backfill in lieu of soil? Does the existing waterproofing system include a protective layer that will allow earthmoving equipment to operate above without damage?

Question: 1. Drawing L1.3, note 13 references chess tables and stepstones. We did not see these items in plan. 2. None of the bid documents provide elevations of the existing structure or surrounding terrain. 3. Drawing L1.3 and others show new work outside the LOD. 4. The guard rail shown on Drawing L3.1 is not identified as an APAH responsibility or a contract responsibility. 5. Will lightweight soil, fill or planting medium be required anywhere on the project? 6. Drawing L1.1 has a note referring to the wall light as being mark L2 which is scheduled as a streetlight. 7. Please confirm that the demolition drawing was issued for "information only" and that there is no demolition work required. 8. Please confirm that no silt fence or inlet protection is required for the project. 9. Will the fence and gates by APAH be installed before, during or after the project construction period?

It is unclear if the fences and gates will need to be fabricated out of galvanized materials and if they will get a powder coat finish or the High Performance coating specified in Section 09 96 00. 2. There is no specification for the climbing wall 'space holds". 3. The landscaping specifications make numerous references to "existing" and "stockpiled" topsoil yet the existing conditions drawing does not show any stockpiles. 4. The specification for the protective playground surface references a poured in place material and a tile material, which product is required? 5. The contract documents use the word "Parks" numerous times. Please confirm that this is a contract for (1) park and that the contractual name for the project is Rosslyn Highlands Park Playground (we have seen at least three different names used on the bid documents).

Question: Section C., Clause #10 of the Construction General Conditions (Section IV. of the ITB - Page 36) indicates that "The Contractor shall perform on-site, and with its own organization, at least twenty percent (20%) of the total direct labor and at least twenty percent (20%) of the total work in place to be performed under the Contract." Please advise if Contractor Purchase Orders for material and/or equipment contribute to either of these percentages. Please also further define what constitutes "direct labor" and "work in place". Lastly, in reference to the second paragraph of this clause, please advise if reduction of the minimum self-performance percentages by Amendment to the Contract may be requested prior to the bid due date.
