Type of Addition: In Review

Question 1

Posted: 9/23/2022

Question: Can you provide floor plans for the fire/EMS stations to receive the station alerting equipment -- or would you prefer a station allowance per station?

Response: Floor plans, we would prefer station allowances, some stations are old and will require substantial work while others are newer and already have some infrastructure. With 37 stations logistically providing plans will be a nightmare. Plans for some will be available once on site.

Question 2

Posted: 9/23/2022

Question: What CAD system(s) are currently being used by the County and HHI?

Response: Two CAD systems, Beaufort Dispatch uses Spillman, Hilton Head Dispatch uses CIS Computer Information Systems.

Question 3

Posted: 9/23/2022

Question: How many radio channels are currently used for fire/EMS dispatch?

Response: Channels used for dispatching purposes, Beaufort Dispatch 1-channel for EMS and 1- channel for Fire. Hilton Head Dispatch 1-channel for Fire and EMS

Question 4

Posted: 10/11/2022

Question: During the mandatory WebEx on Tuesday 10/4/20, it was stated that there is no IP connectivity between the two dispatch centers and some of the fire stations. For features such as alerting by Group, Station, or Unit (Section 2.9), station zoning (Section 2.16), and the ability to display alerting information (Section 2.29), data must be passed from dispatch to the fire stations. NFPA 1221 requires redundant methods of notifications for the fire station alerting system. If there is no IP connection to the fire stations should there be a requirement that data be passed to the fire stations over the existing Beaufort County mission-critical P25 radio system to avoid any 3rd party costs, in addition to over-the-air notification methods so that system monitoring and 2-way confirmations can occur?

Response: Not all stations have connection with Beaufort County “dark fiber, County system” but they do have internet connections at those stations. For redundancy we will need the alert/information sent over both radio and internet. Doing this will ensure we will receive the information on whatever system gets to the station first.

Question 5

Posted: 10/13/2022

Question: Proposal Submittal Contents, Page 11, RFP states: To achieve a uniform review process and allow for adequate comparability, the information is to be organized in the manner specified below and the entire package must not exceed 15 double-sided printed pages excluding Exhibit A and B, cover pages and tabs. Q. Understanding this is an electronic submittal, please confirm that if printed, the proposal must not exceed 15, double-sided pages (30 single sides pages total), excluding exhibits A & B, cover page and tabs.

Response: Confirmed
