Description:

Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX) requires the services of Professional Engineering Consultants to prepare construction drawings / specifications providing for the four-to-six lane widening of SR 528 from SR 417 to Innovation Way.  The project consists of widening to the outside in each direction to create the additional general use lanes.  The widening shall accommodate a 50' median and a 10' paved inside shoulders.  The EB widening shall match the limits of the 528-160 project.  The SB-to-WB ramp from SR 417 is to be re-aligned to create a two-lane entrance ramp with both lanes merging into SR 528 WB.  The median width is to transition to a 26' median with barrier wall through the limits of the toll plaza and ORT tolling zone.  No modifications to the cash plaza buildings are anticipated with this project.  The EB exit to Innovation Way shall be a single-lane exit with the outside lane of SR 528 merging downstream of the gore to match the existing condition.  The WB entrance ramps from Innovation Way are to be re-aligned to accommodate the future 6-laning of SR 528 to the east.  New stormwater ponds are proposed along the south side of SR 528 between the toll plaza and Innovation Way.
