Question 1

Posted: 1/17/2025

Question: 1) May we have the relevant construction drawing sheet(s) that specifically identifies locations of the eight (8) manholes? (City Engineer used a copy of this on our site walk with mark ups showing actual locations) 2) On pay item 2 (Embankment and Ditch Protection), we recommend an additional measure of structural integrity be added to the work scope; the inclusion of Rip Rap to aid in strength of the existing embankment and significant erosion reduction. Could the city provide a specification of the rip rap (depth/size) if this option would be considered? 3) The area in which many of the manhole backfill activity will be occurring, is located in a nature preserve. Are there any special permissions/notifications that we would be responsible for in executing the work in that area?

Response: 1)Alternative item to cement stabilized sand for Bid Item 2- Provide Txdot 432 Stone Riprap (18”x24” buried a minimum 6” placed on filter fiber ) 2)No special permission is needed to enter the preservation area. We will work within the easement. Add: Broadcast seasonal seeding (per Txdot) to the areas disturbed during operations, outside site locations.
