Description: AAMU (the “Owner”) is seeking proposals for a turnkey Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to support its electric BTS fleet charging program. The AAMU operates a growing fleet of electric buses and has installed a 1.3 MW solar PV array. To enhance energy resilience and optimize the use of solar power, AAMU will deploy a BESS that can store solar energy and deliver daily electricity to the bus chargers. The BESS will also provide critical backup power during grid outages, with about approximately 1.8 days of typical operations available for resilience. This project is aligned with U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) best practices for energy storage procurement and emphasizes safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. The resulting contract will be administered by AAMU in accordance with public procurement guidelines, with an award based on best-value selection.
