Description:

Sealed bids will be received in hand in the office of the Purchasing Officer, Oconee County Board of Commissioners (OCBOC), Suite 203, 23 N. Main Street, Watkinsville, GA. 30677, until 1:30 PM on Thursday, April 18, 2019 for asphalt repairs to existing County roads. The Contractor shall be responsible for, but not limited to, providing all labor, materials, equipment and the traffic control necessary for completion of the Asphalt Work. Disposal of materials shall be the responsibility of the Contractor and at no additional cost to the County.

 The detailed Technical Specifications are outlined in the bid documents. OWNER requires a bid bond* or a certified cashier's check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid to be enclosed with the bid at the time of bid opening. Cashier's check will be made payable to Oconee County Board of Commissioners. No pre-bid meeting is scheduled for this solicitation.

The successful BIDDER will be required to furnish OWNER with Insurance, Workman's Compensation Insurance, and Performance and Payment Bonds* in the amount of one-hundred percent (100%) of the total bid.

At that time, date, and place given above, in Suite 205, the sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.  Specifications and bid forms can be obtained from the Office of the Purchasing Officer, the Georgia Procurement Registry or the Oconee County Website at www.oconeecounty.com . 

In addition to the Asphalt Repairs specified in the Bid Document, this will be an “Open End Agreement” to provide for the requirements of Oconee County on an "as needed" basis until June 30, 2020. The quantities may be increased or decreased as required to satisfy the needs of the County.  The agreement may be renewed up to four (4) additional, one year periods at the County’s option.

The work shall be commenced within ten (10) calendar days of the Notice to Proceed. Each job/task shall be completed based upon a schedule mutually agreed upon by the Owner and Contractor.

The OCBOC reserves the right to cancel this solicitation and/or reject all bids in whole or in part if Oconee County determines that cancellation and/or rejections are advantageous to the County. Bids are legal and binding upon the Bidder when submitted. It will also be the responsibility of each Bidder to obtain any addenda issued from the Purchasing Office or Oconee County Website. The written ITB and Addenda documents supersede any verbal or written prior communications between the parties.
