INVITATION TO BIDDERS
The City of Sweetwater is taking sealed bids for the paving
and striping of various streets inside Sweetwater. Bid specifications are available at the
Recorder’s office, City Hall, 203 Monroe Street, Sweetwater, TN 37874 or by emailing jmorgan@sweetwatertn.net. Bids will be taken until Friday, May 1, 2020
at 4:00 p.m. Bids will be opened in a Committee meeting on Monday, May 6 at 4:00
p.m. Bids will be presented and likely awarded on Monday, May 6 at 5:00 p.m.
during the workshop of the Mayor and Board of Commissioners.

Paving & Striping 2020
The City of
Asphalt paving of the below listed street sections. Bid should include pricing for 1 ½ inch e-mix
(topping). The sections will be prepped
for paving with necessary excavation, stone, and grade work. City Crews to do grinding on curbs and
manholes. Asphalt should be 1.5 inches
thick. Contractor to provide pricing for
striping center lane only.
Please provide pricing for EACH of the following projects and
provide a total project costs for all projects.
1)
Monroe Street from Highway 11 (Main Street) to Summitt
Street
2)
Monroe Street from 100 ft past Lenoir Street to the
entrance of West View Cemetary
3)
Morris Street from Smith Street to Brewster Street
4)
Wright Street from Smith Street to Fair Street
Coordination of work with others:
All work shall be arranged through the City of Sweetwater
Recorder and in coordination with the Street Superintendent. Work shall be completed within 90 days from
date when bid is awarded.
This project will require a pre-construction meeting once
the bid has been awarded.

The bid must be received in the office no later than the bid
deadline. Postmark will not be accepted.
Bids will be accepted until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1,
2020.
Payment from the City of Sweetwater will be made upon
completion of work.

Firm address
Any deviations from these specifications.
One year warranty for all work from date of completion.
Price for each section and a complete price for all sections
Three references for prior city/county work completed in the
past 3 years
Prior to beginning construction, the successful bidder will
be required to provide a Title VI certification statement; a completed W-9
form; and provide a copy of a fully executed current Certificate of Insurance. For
