Title: All Electronic Tolling Signage and Stripping Design
Deadline: 11/11/2019 8:00 AM (UTC-06:00) Central Time (US & Canada)
Status: Cancelled
Description:
Escambia County wishes to convert the existing Bob Sikes Bridge tolling facility to a completely Cash-Free method of toll collection. The existing facility currently accepts cash, Pensacola Beach Annual Passes, Sunpass, and the State of Florida’s - Florida Turnpike Enterprise (FTE) “toll by plate” as toll options.
The purpose of this project solicitation is to acquire consulting firm
services that provide the County with a full set of signed and
sealed Signage and Marking plans that will work effectively with a new Cash-Free
toll collecting method and will maximize the flow of vehicle travel onto the
island. The selected consultant will provide a complete
set of signage and pavement marking plans for Cash-Free Tolling that meets FDOT
Express Lanes Handbook standards to help guide traffic through the toll
plaza. The limits of the plan will
extend from US 98 to approximately 300 feet south of the toll plaza to the
intersection. Many of the people that
use the bridge are tourists or infrequent visitors therefore, the provision of
proper wayfinding signage is of prime importance. Good wayfinding signage will increase traffic
safety, reduce congestion and greatly enhance visitor satisfaction. Complete wayfinding signage will be included
in the signage and pavement marking plans.
The consultant must identify the proper promotional campaign to successfully
implement and effectively notify the public of the Cash-Free Tolling conversion. Plans must be designed in accordance with the Florida Department of Transportation Turnpike Enterprise's guidelines for toll facilities..
Deliverables will consist of 30% plans, 90% plans and final signage and pavement marking plans. The method of delivery shall be in the form of four plan set hard copies (2 half-size & 2 full-size) and two electronic copies (pdf & ACAD) for each of the four plan set deliverables.
