Description:

Dorchester County seeks a vendor to provide clearing and mulching services for a future park area located adjacent to the Dorchester County Courthouse at 5200 E. Jim Bilton Blvd., St. George, SC 29477.  The approximate area is 607,213.5 sq. ft. with approximately 2/3 being clear-cut 3 years ago and 1/3 being thinned (pine) at that time.  Shrubs, grasses, saplings and small trees will be in the project area.  A Gyro-Trac Mulching Machine, or comparable machine as approved by County, must be utilized.  It is Offeror’s sole responsibility to confirm site conditions prior to submitting quote.  Work must be completed no later than 11/6/19.

Response: Wetlands are where the mature trees are still standing. It’s not currently wet.

Response: Yes to both questions.

Question: Your description of mulching says 607,213 sq/ft but mulching area map reads 670,213 sq/ft. I’m assuming that the map is correct or is the description the correct square footage

Response: The map is correct. Please confirm with site visit.

Question: All of the area in red is supposed to be mulched correct. All trees,shrubs,stumps,bushes,saplings,etc. or do y’all want All older clear cut stumps grubbed with excavator and removed from property.

Response: Everything except for the mature pine trees will be mulched. That’s why the machinery needs to be able to operate in between the pine trees. We are not asking for any stumps to be removed at this time. We do not want to use an excavator for this job and have specified gyrotrac or similar.
